The Problem
- The rear entrance needed a cleaner replacement system that provided daily access and more glass without using a standard white sliding patio door.
How We Fixed It
- We set a black hinged garden door beside a matching fixed sidelight, aligned the frame and active panel, insulated the perimeter and checked closing and lock engagement.
Why the Sidelight Changed the Opening
The fixed glass section adds width and daylight while leaving one clearly defined hinged door for everyday backyard access.
Garden Door vs. Sliding Patio Door
A garden door swings like an exterior entry door. A sidelight can expand the glass area while retaining the solid feel and hardware layout of a hinged entrance.
Final Result
The Newmarket home gained a black rear entrance with more daylight, a full-height sidelight and a clean modern frame profile.
