This project followed three documented stages: the broken glass on August 12, temporary board-up the same day, and the completed glass replacement and sliding door repair on August 16.

The broken glass left the exterior patio door opening unsafe and exposed, while the existing sliding door system remained suitable to repair.

We installed a fitted plywood panel to protect the opening while the correct replacement glass with grille inserts was prepared.

The temporary protection was removed, new grille-pattern glass was installed, and the existing sliding patio door was checked and restored for normal operation.

The Problem

On August 12, the sliding patio door glass shattered around the grille insert, leaving broken safety glass and an exposed exterior opening in Yorkville.
The existing sliding door system could remain in place, but the opening needed immediate temporary protection.

How We Fixed It

We fitted temporary plywood protection to the broken opening.
Once the new grille-pattern glass was ready, we installed it and checked and repaired the existing sliding door for normal operation.

Final Result

The patio entrance regained its grille-pattern glass and normal sliding-door operation with the existing door system retained.
