The sequence follows the old doors before removal, the cleared opening, placement of the new system and the finished double doors with built-in blinds sealed inside the insulated glass units.
The original double patio doors were worn, marked up and no longer presenting a clean, tight opening. At this stage we check the swing, lock side, threshold, exterior trim and signs of rust, drafts or frame movement before deciding whether repair is enough or replacement is smarter.
We removed the old French door unit and exposed the opening. This is the moment that matters on replacement jobs: the sill, side jambs, header area and surrounding structure have to be checked before a new frame is fastened in place.
At this stage we started installing the new French patio doors by setting the new frame and first door panel into the opening. We checked the frame for level, plumb and square, then confirmed the swing and centre meeting line so the double doors would close evenly and seal properly once the full installation was complete.
From inside, the new French patio doors give the room a cleaner look and better privacy control. The blinds are built into the insulated glass units, so there are no hanging cords, no dusty surface blinds and no separate window covering hitting the door panels.
The finished exterior shows the new double patio door system installed, aligned and sealed. After installation we test both active and passive leaves, check the lock, confirm the weatherseal contact and make sure the new patio doors open, close and latch without fighting the frame.
